Laura Goldin Hirsch (1939- ) graduated in 1961 from Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Hirsch discusses being born in Greensboro, North Carolina and her family moving about every eighteen months throughout the South until she attended college. She recalls always being interested in science, her reason for attending Woman's College, and majoring in psychology. Hirsch discusses dorm life, campus social life, The Corner, Black Stocking Girls, faculty, students, and her involvement in the 1960 Greensboro Sit-ins. She concludes the interview by talking about working in the psychology field for six years, staying home to raise a family, and becoming a window designer, jewelry designer, and benefits counselor.
