Mary Alice Tennent scrapbook, 1909-1922
This scrapbook, created by Mary Alice Tennent between 1909 and 1922, documents Tennent's experience as a student and later Assistant Registrar at the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College (later the North Carolina College for Women, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). The scrapbook includes many programs for various events, copies of published poetry by Tennent, letters from children at the Training School to Tennent when she was in the infirmary, wedding announcements from friends and classmates, ephemera related to her membership in the Adelphian Society, a list of the 1912-1913 sixth grade Curry School students, a list of friends and classmates with names of their spouses and marriage dates, trimmings from regalia and a commencement frock, a marshal armband, an armband for commencement at UNC Chapel Hill, and Field Day ribbons.
