Catherine Ann Bennett (1951-2006), of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, served in the United States Coast Guard from 1974-1999. She was a Marine Safety and an Operational Law Enforcement officer. Bennett attended the University of St. Clara and graduated in 1973 before entering the Coast Guard in 1974. Bennett’s background in military readiness began when assigned to MSO Galveston, Texas, where she was a Command Project Officer for exercise Nifty Nugget, coordinating and later drafting a unity war plan for future soldiers. From the period July 1986 to March 1987, Bennett served as a Readiness Officer before attending the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, in January 1989.
