Temple correspondence with the Emergency Committee on Jewish Refugees
Series of correspondence between Temple leadership and the Emergency Committee on Jewish Refugees. The correspondence starts with a letter from the Chairman of the Emergency Committee on Jewish Refugees to the late Emanuel Sternberger asking the Temple to raise $1,000 for Jewish refugee relief in Europe and Cuba. President Sidney J. Sternberger writes a letter in reply informing the committee of the death of Emanuel Sternberger, stating that Rabbi Kaufman had already sent $500 to the Committee. Committee sends two letters in reply acknowledging that they have received $494.44 from the Greensboro Community and that Chairman Louis Marshall was too busy to visit Greensboro personally to speak about the Emergency Committee. The letter also asked that the Temple gather important community members to hear the Chairman's radio address on November 18th.
