Class of 1913 subject file
The Class of 1913 folder contains material pertaining to the 1913 graduating class of North Carolina State Normal and Industrial School (State Normal, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Included in the folder are programs from the 1913 Commencement Weekend, graduating exercises, the Annual Sermon, the Annual Concert, Class Day Exercises, the play "Our Mutual Friend," and the play "The Mostellaria." Of particular interest are a letter from Katherine Robinson to her aunt Georgie, and a letter to Miss Mary Tennent from the Alumnae Association, and a"letter"outlining the 50th reunion. There is a 50th year reunion booklet with class songs, and"a ""Stunt for the Class"" booklet of chants,"and a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1913 alumnae. There are also two alumnae directories, which include students' maiden and married names as well as their years of attendance.

There are also two alumnae directories, which include students' maiden and married names as well as their years of attendance. Also included is an invitation to the Class Supper, the Green and White Supper, and Commencement. Of particular interest is a booklet from 1964 which includes a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1914 alumnae, and decorative hand-made dinner menus.

Included in the folder are programs from the 1915 Commencement Weekend, Graduating Exercises, the Annual Sermon, Class Day Exercises, and the 45th Reunion. Of particular interest are booklets from the 40th, 45th, and 50th Anniversaries, all of which are hand-made and include a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1915 alumnae, and facts about the graduating class. There is also an alumnae directory, which include students' maiden and married names as well as their years of attendance. There is an essay titled "History of Carolina Female College" by Louise Whitely, and there is a letter to Lillian Pitt while she was in the infirmary.

The Class of 1916 folder contains material pertaining to the 1916 graduating class of North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Included in the folder are programs, invitations, a speech, and various graduation and degree announcement newspaper clippings from the 1916 commencement activities. Also included are menus, social event invitations and cards, various notes and correspondences, and photographs of the mascot and alumnae families. In addition there are alumnae directories, biographies, letters, notes, invitations, news clippings, postcards, and other materials pertaining to class reunions and gatherings in 1919, 1941, 1946 1951, 1956, 1960, 1965,1966, and 1971. Of particular interest are school song lyrics and a May Day booklet and program. (JD)

Included in the folder are programs from the 1918 Commencement Weekend, a Junior-Senior Dinner, and a Pageant titled "The Drawing of the Sword," and a play titled "Visions of Youth," with a hand-painted invitation. There also are two alumnae directories; one from the 18th anniversary and one from the 50th, both include students' maiden and married names as well as their years of attendance and a short biographical summary of their lives.

Included in the folder are programs from the 1919 Commencement Weekend, The Baccalaureate Sermon, the Vesper Service, and a play titled "The Christmas Carol of Charles Dickens." There are two directories; one created in 1964 and one created in 1969 with a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1919 Alumnae. Of particular interest is a hand-made toasts booklet, and a hand-painted toast and menu from the Senior Farewell Banquet.

There is a 50th reunion booklet with a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1920 Alumnae. Of particular interest is a compilation of poems titled "Kathryn"s Message," a booklet titled "Love, Honor, and Loyalty," and a booklet titled "A Saga in Lavender."

Included in the folder are programs from the 1923 Baccalaureate Sermon, the Banquet, the Class Day, the Commencement Concert, the Vesper Service, and the Commencement Weekend. Other programs include the Annual Field Day, and a play titled ""Green Stocking."" Of note is a composition notebook with class notes on various subjects. There is a letter with an update of the lives of the 1923 Alumnae which includes a short biographical summary. There are also three alumnae directories, included are the years1958, 1963, and 1973, which includes a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1923 Alumnae. Also included is a newpaper clipping in "Choice Gossip"dated June 4th 1927.

Included in the folder are programs from the 1924 Baccalaureate Sermon, the Class Day, and the Commencement Weekend. There is a directory which has the students' date of entry, years attended, and maiden and married names. Of particular interest is Catherine Jones Pierce's original diploma, with its case.

The Class of 1925 folder contains material pertaining to the 1925 graduating class of North Carolina College for Women (NC College for Women, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Included in the folder are programs from the 1925 Baccalaureate Sermon, the Class Day, the Commencement Concert, the Commencement Weekend, the Vesper Service, and the Twilight Organ Recital and a Piano Recital. There is a directory booklet from 1975 which includes a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1925 Alumnae along with personal letters concerning the reunion. Of particular interest are Lucie Pauline Roberts' and Fannie H. Northrop's original diplomas. There is a Certificate of Merit awarded to Fannie N. Kletzien from the Greensboro Public Schools. Also included is an original vaccination certificate for Winifred Barwick, and a newspaper clipping from the Greensboro Daily News, dated Sunday September 28, 1924.

The Class of 1926 folder contains material pertaining to the 1926 graduating class of North Carolina College for Women (NC College for Women, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Included in the folder are programs from the 1926 Baccalaureate Sermon, the Class Day, the Commencement Weekend, the Vesper Service, and the Alumnae Day. There is a directory booklet from 1927, and a directory booklet from 1976 which includes a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1926 Alumnae. Of particular interest is a Memoir of Kate Hall Carlson written by Eleanor V. Bennett. Also included are reunion letters, from 1949, 1976, 1951, and reunion notes from 1972 and 1977, and a 50th anniversary alumnae photo. There is a newsletter from May 5th, 1978, and a series of photocopied newspaper articles concerning UNCG's new scepter, the Mace. Also included are two hand-painted decorative 1925 Formal programs, and a photocopy of the Chancellor's Speech.

Also included are invitations and newspaper clippings about the exercises and programs from the 1926 and 1928 junior-senior banquets. In addition, there are alumnae directories and other materials pertaining to class reunions in 1957 and 1977. Of particular interest are a printed card noting the persons responsible for convening reunions for the classes of 1893 through 1926 and a mimeographed program for "Unmusical Recital" presented by "The United Unmuses of the Redandwhite Class".

Also included are invitations and newspaper clippings about the exercises. Personal notes and correspondence regarding commencement and reunions are also in the folder. Of particular interest are a clipping of a Ruth Minick memorial, a document reporting class statistics, and various artifacts such as negatives and pins.

Of particular interest are a two-page newspaper article clipping detailing the names, hometowns, and degrees of graduates; a picture from the 1979 reunion, complete with names by row; lyrics sheets for ""Serenade Songs"" of the junior class of 1929 and ""The Blue and White Forever"" the pinted program for the ""North Carolina Institution for Incurable Inebriates: Educational Interpretation

The Class of 1930 folder contains material pertaining to the 1930 graduating class of North Carolina College for Women (NCCW, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro)" Included in the folder are printed programs from 1930 commencement activities such as the NCCW graduation, Class Day, Alumnae Week-end Seminar, and Alumnae Day exercises; the baccalaureate sermon and vesper service; the Park Night Service; the junior-senior prom; and the commencement weekend festivities. Also included are a reminder for the 25th reunion; a letter requesting donations for the Alumnae Fund; the Alumnae News for the class of 1930 published in February 1931; and a ticket to a ""Performance by the Play-Likers." Of particular interest are a printed program for the Orchesus dance drama, complete with handwritten notes and doodles; and a flyer for the senior-faculty cruise ship tour.

Also included are reminders for the 20th, 25th, 35th, 50th, and 60th reunions; booklets from the 1951 and 1966 reunions. Of particular interest are letters of RSPV for the 50th reunion, thank you letters after the 50th reunion, and a bibliography on North Carolina pottery by Elizabeth DuVernet.

Also included are the minutes from the twenty-fifth reunion of the Class of 1932. In addition, there are biographical notes for the introduction of Freshman Week speakers. Of particular interest are programs for Berkeley Square, a play by John Balderston, and the senior unmusical titled "All-us in Wonderland". (DBW)
