Address on "Local Taxation", by President Charles D. McIver, December, 1903
Address on "Local Taxation" by Dr. Charles Duncan McIver which was delivered before the Southern Educational Association at Atlanta, Georgia in December of 1903. In this address Dr. McIver discusses criticism of taxation for the payment of public education, the role of communities and philanthropy in taxes for public schools, and persuading communities opposed to tax supported education. This printed address also included maps of North Carolina counties.

Parker School Furniture & Supplies of Raleigh, N.C., as well as national manufacturers of ladies shoes, desks, school desks, school stationaries, bookshelves, heaters, laundry machines, iron fences, and complete instructional brochures for various styles of typewriters.
Alumni Association 1891 n.d.
Notes and papers chiefly concerning the financial activities of the Alumni Association of the State and Normal College for Women in 1891. Topics include froms and notes from the Citizens National Bank, a possible draft for the schools alma matter, and a typed report to the executieve commitee concerning the fundraising of the alumin association. There are several lists of names of donors, their contribution amounts and location from which they were recieved. Some of the letters detail the creation of alumni based scholarships.

A pamphlet of the National Educational Association's Declaration of Principles from 1900 of which Dr. Charles Duncan McIver, president of the State Normal and Industrial College was one of the committee members. The Declaration states ideas like an education for all children, the extension of the American school system to Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippine Islands, the increase in secondary and higher education and formulating admissions policies to colleges. This document also includes statistics on many leading American colleges.

Diary entries and autobiographical writings by Dr. Charles D. McIver in 1884 and from 1891 to 1892. Dr. McIver describes incidents of his childhood, motivations, and goals for his career in education. Contents include beginnings of an autobiography geared to his children which begins with a childhood story about a child slave called 'Dick' and another called 'Uncle Make McNeill', memories of his father and the Civil War, a biographical form for the 'Men of Mark in North Carolina' noting f sucesses and failures, notes of travels, NcIver's early courthsip with Lula Martin McIver, an outline for a chapter autobiography.

Many of the documents detail Dr. McIver's efforts to build the education of women and of the needs of the Normal and Industrial College.
