Dr. Terence Nile was born on February 26, 1947, in Redruth, Cornwall, UK. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in 1966, Master of Science in 1970 and with his Ph.D in 1975, all from the University of Sussex. He began working at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1975 as an assistant professor in the Chemistry department and ascended the ranks to professor. His research focus was in the synthesis of novel substituted cyclopentadienes and their transition metal complexes. Dr. Nile discusses his early life, the changes he has seen on campus and in the Chemistry department during his time at UNCG, and the impact the university has had on his life.
