Eleanor Jacquelyn Davis Hall Papers

Eleanor Jacquelyn Davis Hall was a commercial student at the Woman's College of The University of North Carolina (now UNC Greensboro) from 1956-1957. During her year here, she witnessed the start of the Suez Canal Crisis, the election of President Eisenhower, and a small fire in the Mary Foust dormitory. In correspondence with her husband, Teddy Hall, she describes the every-day life of women on campus, including campus events, dining options, and leisure activities. She often writes about "house meetings" in her dorm. During her time as a student, Davis was an active member of College Park Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. This collection contains correspondence, scrapbooks, school records, and other materials that document the life of Eleanor Jacquelyn Davis Hall. It consists primarily of letters from Davis to her husband, Ted Hall, a football player at the University of South Carolina. The collection also contains two scrapbooks, report cards, photographs, and ephemera.
