Souvenir Booklet, Lyceum Company, "Becket"
Souvenir Booklet for The Royal Lyceum Theatre production of "Becket." Booklet is bound with a hard back cover. The front cover contains the name of the production, playwright, and the first date the play was presented, Feb. 6, 1893. There are also illustrations of a Catholic mitre and clerical staff crossed with a king's crown and scepter. The back cover states that the booklet was printed at the Chiswick Press by Charles Whittingham and Co. The booklet is 33 pages long and contains design renderings for A Castle in Normandy, Becket's House in London, a Street in Northampton Leading to the Castle, The Hall in Northampton Castle, Montmirail, Outside the Wood, Rosamund's Bower, and the North Transept of Canterbury Cathedral, as well as photographs of sketches of Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905) as Becket and Dame Ellen Terry (1847-1928) as Rosamund. Also contains a cast list and synopsis of scenery.
