Millie Freeman discusses her family life, education, experience in the police department, experience in the military, after the military, and her personal views of certain topics relating to the military. Millie Freeman talks about her experience at basic training, each of her duty stations and her social life and relationships. She discusses the badges she earned, the discrimination that she endured, and the hard physical fitness she faced while being seven months pregnant with her son. Freeman also discussed her life after the military, her adjustment to civilian life, the most rewarding thing in her military service. She talked about her heroes, her character impacted by the military, the anti-war movement, the Women’s Rights Movement, and whether women should be able to go into combat. She finishes discussing her views on the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” repeal, patriotism, and other experiences that were impacted by the military.
