Elizabeth "Betty" O'Neill (1936-2021) and Elizabeth A. Barker (1933-2009) both served in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. O'Neill was commissioned circa 1957 and retired as a Captain in 1982. She served overseas in Guam, Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam. While in Vietnam in 1970, she was assigned to Station Hospital DaNang, the Military Assistance Command (MACV) in Saigon, and the hospital ship USS Sanctuary AH17. Elizabeth A. Barker was commissioned circa 1959 and retired as a Captain in 1979. When she was stationed at the Naval Hospital in DaNang, Vietnam in 1976, she was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V. O'Neill and Barker spent their retirement in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
