Elizabeth Anne Helm-Frazier (b. 1961), of St. Petersburg, Florida, served as a personnel actions specialist and a retention career counselor in the United States Army from 1981-2006. Elizabeth Anne Helm-Frazier was born 14 September 1961 in St. Petersburg, Florida and grew up in Ridgecrest, Florida. Helm-Frazier enlisted in the U.S. Army in August of 1981. She completed her basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey and next went to Personnel Specialist training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Her first duty station was at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri making military ID cards. She did this for about a year before being assigned to West Germany. Helm-Frazier’s second assignment was in Hanau, West Germany with the 574 Personnel Service Company. She was on Pioneer Kaserne and made ID cards on the base. Her next duty station was at Fort Gordon, Georgia at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in the reenlistment office. While she was there, she changed her specialty to become a career counselor. After attending career consulting school for six months, she was assigned to the United States Medical Activity Department at Fort Ord, California and started her career as a career counselor. Her next assignment was Seoul, South Korea in 1989 as a Retention Noncommissioned officer and then Fort Sam Houston in Texas, where she enrolled at Wayland Baptist University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management. Helm-Frazier was then stationed in South Korea again, this time at Camp Red Cloud in the Second Infantry Division as a Career Counselor. She was there for a year before going back to the United States and being stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In March 1999, Helm-Frazier was sent back in Germany where she was stationed at the 21st Theater Support Command in Kaiserslautern as an operational career counselor. After being two years, Helm-Frazier was assigned to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Maryland. After retiring from the military, Helm-Frazier worked as a teacher’s assistant for a few years. Later she would go on to work as a federal employee at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and currently works in the department of Veteran Affairs.
