Genevieve Crick served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) in 1944 and 1945 as a public relations officer. She was stationed at Camp White, Oregon, before transferring to Santa Barbara, California, to be trained in call signs for overseas radio operation. While in Santa Barbara, Crick took college courses at night and trained during the day. During her time in the service she became engaged to Leonard Levy, whom she met at Camp White.
