Anita Adams discusses her family life, education, military experience, and her life after the military. Adams talks about the influences when joining the military, how women were perceived by the public, her duty stations throughout her career, and about her special mentor. She also talks about discrimination against women in the military, how the attitude toward women changed, the hardest thing to do physically, the best thing she experienced in the military, and her own heroes. Adams also discusses her views about the anti-war movement, political leadership, women in combat positions, the don’t ask don’t tell movement, patriotism, and what civilians should know about being in the military. Anita Adams finishes by talking about life after the military, use of the GI Bill, experience with Veteran’s Administration, and PTSD.
