Gwenn Iris Taylor (1928-2018), of Long Beach, California, served in the Cadet Nurse Corps from 1945-1948 and Navy Nurse Corps in the 1950s. Taylor joined the Cadet Nurse Corps in September 1945 and did her training at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1954 she was at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. In 1955 she had the rank of Lieutenant Jr. Grade. She married U.S. Navy officer Cecil Rice in 1954 and later they moved to Marcellus, New York in 1956. Gwenn worked for St. Joseph's Hospital for Nationwide Insurance and then Yuhas Real Estate in New York State.
