Anita Adams (b. 1953), of Wilmington, North Carolina, served as a medic in the U.S. Army WAC (Women's Army Corps) as a medic from 1971-1977. Anita Adams was born on 31 July 1953. Adams enlisted into the U.S. Army WAC (Women’s Army Corps) in 1971 in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1971, she attended basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. After basic training, Adams was sent to Fort Sam Houston, Texas for medical training. She served as a medic at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In 1977, she was discharged with the rank of E-5 Specialist 5th class. After Adams was discharged, she used the G.I. Bill to attend Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina. She married Robert Adams and raised two children, Angela Hines and Durina Keefer.
