Theresa Scott (b. 1981), of Pontiac, Michigan, served as an aircraft electrical systems technician in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2004. Theresa Scottwas born on 28 May 1981 and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in Saginaw, Michigan in 1999. Scott served as a recruit in boot camp from July 1999 to October 1999. After boot camp, Scott went to Marine Combat Training (MCT) camp in November of 1999. After MCT camp, Scott studied at the Naval Aviation School (NAS) in Pensacola, Florida from November 21, 1999, to May 11, 2000. After NAS, Scott attended C School, Marine Attack Training Squadron 203 (VMAT-203), from May 25, 2000, to August 31, 2000. Scott served as both a Private First Class (PFC) student and Lance Corporal (LCPL) at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Scott was next assigned to the Mission Marine Attack Squadron (VMA-223) on September 1, 2000. There, Scott served as an Avionics Electrical Systems Technician as a S1 Legal Clerk (Personnel Officer). From October 4, 2002, to October 23, 2003, Scott worked on a ship in Iraq (NC01C Tool Room) as Lance Corporal and Corporal (LCPL/CPL) Avionics Electrical Technician. Scott was stationed on the U.S.S. Iwo Jima; Marine Attack Squadron 223 (UMA 223) from October 21, 2003, to June 15, 2004, as a work center supervisor. After Scott left the USMC, she married Destini Scott and used the GI Bill to earn an MFA at Duke University.
