Felicia Marie Dahl (b. 1979) has served in the United States Army as a combat specialist/medic since 2003. Felicia Marie Dahl was born 19 November 1979 in Seoul, South Korea. As a child, Dahl lived in Texas, Kentucky and Germany, because of her biological father's military service. After the divorce of her parents, Dahl's mother remarried, again to a military servicemember, and they moved to Hawaii for two years. Dahl's family then moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she spent most of her adolescence and early adult life. At age twenty-three, Dahl decided to enlist in the United States Army, and signed a contract for four years. In February 2003, she began basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and was part of Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Battalion. She then began four months of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 68 W Healthcare Specialist, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This training involved combat training, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, learning how to react in traumatic situations, and passing the National Registry of Emergency Technicians exam. In July 2003, Dahl received orders to Suwon Air Base in the Republic of Korea (ROK). While there, she completed the Professional Leadership Development Course, maintained field litter ambulances, and worked in the pharmacy, ordering and issuing medications. She had the opportunity to travel twice to Chosŏn, Korea, in support of the soldiers conducting Stinger missile exercises, and was also a member of Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS), a U.S. Army program supporting the quality of life for single and unaccompanied soldiers. In July 2006, Dahl received a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) at Fort Drum, New York. She met her husband there, they married 7 June 2007, and in August 2007, Dahl deployed to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Warrior in Kirkuk, Iraq, for a fourteen-month tour. While deployed, Dahl helped facilitate the set-up of medical facilities, ran an aid station, and managed a detainee holding facility. Dahl returned to Fort Drum in October 2008, and later received a Bronze Star for her work in Iraq. After returning to the U.S., Dahl became pregnant. At about the same time, Dahl's unit began to prepare for deployment to Afghanistan. She gave birth to her child and was expecting to deploy with the rest of her unit but was denied and assigned to U.S. Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC). In February 2011, Dahl received orders to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she was made the squad leader of the Warrior Transition Battalion, assisting soldiers to make sure they received their Triad of Care. In July 2014, Dahl received orders to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, where she served as the Executive Officer (XO), worked with the Physician Integrated Evaluation System (IDES), and oversaw Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officers (PEBLOS) in the Physical Health Department. In 2016, Dahl began attending the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She graduated in May 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Nursing.
