Primarily documents the life of Bridgid Kathleen MacSeóin and her service with the United States Air Force. MacSeóin recalls her childhood as a military dependent, and the effect that moving so often throughout her childhood had on her. She describes having male airmen questioning her skills and abilities as a female small arms instructor, and having to demonstrate she was just as capable as the men. She also speaks of her military deployments, and how she was troubled to realize how ignorant she was about world affairs and what the United States was actually doing politically and militarily in different parts of the world. Personal topics include MacSeóin's diagnosis with thyroid cancer, and her disappointment at having to end her military career, as well as her difficult transition to civilian life.
