The collection includes 16 letters from Bailey addressed to her parents in Los Angeles, California and an additional 14 letters from other servicemen, including her two brothers. Her letters range from 12 June 1944- 18 April 1945. Her first letters are from her time as a new recruit in the Marine Corps Women's Reserve at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Later letters were written from her time stationed at Naval Air Technical Training Center in Norman, Oklahoma and then Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro, California.
