Illustrative oral history drawing, 18"x24", newsprint paper and graphite pencil. This work illustrates descriptions of the Palace Theatre on East Market Street in Greensboro from interviews with community members. The Palace, which had operated as a segregated theatre for African American patrons, was lost to "urban renewal" in the late 1960s along with the entire east Market Street business district.
